Brest is France's most westerly large city, and home to Brittany's biggest marina. Brest is a friendly city; not grey and cold and some may say, but endearing. Always ready for a party, there are some good late closing bars: "Chez Arnold" and "L'Arizona". For beer lovers: "Dubliners" and "World's End pub”. The Saint-Martin area is known for its liveliness. Recommended visits: the Vieux Brest Museum, Océanopolis (huge marine science centre, only one of its kind in the world), the Quartz, the grand theatre of Brest. The largest harbour in North Finistère has developed through centuries of artisanal, industrial and commercial activity, not only on its own territory but also with neighbouring areas, embracing oceanographic and technological innovations to achieve its destiny. With a large naval port, as well as the yachting marina (parties every Thursday evening in summer) and commercial port, Brest is first and foremost a maritime city. An ideal base to explore North Finistère, majestic with breathtaking sites. In 2008, Brest hosted over two thousand boats for an exceptional maritime gathering held every 4 years. Do not miss Siam street for shopping, the old streets of Recouvrance, the Castle, Musée de la Marine (maritime museum), Tanguy tower, Musée des Beaux Arts (Museum of Fine Art), the St Louis quarter…
